The following sections describe the functionality available in Schema Viewer. The software allows the user to view several different file types:

Hardware interface files have a .hwi extension, and their backup files have a .bwi extension. Hardware interface files describe what hardware controller(s) make up a control station or Chameleon node (group of modules).

Schema files have a .scm extension, and their backup files have a .bcm extension. Schema files are the heart of the system, containing the programs which execute on the Fairmount Automation hardware.

HMI files have a .hmi extension, and their backup files have a .bmi extension. HMI files define the Human/Machine Interface between a PC and a controller.

Workspace files have a .dpw extension, and their backup files have a .wbk extension. Workspace files link to the hardware interface files, schema files and HMI files which make up a project, and can organize them using internal folders. They also contain the network configuration and setup information.
