Process all your nodes' schemas and fix the errors before trying to start a simulation. Press the green stoplight button on the toolbar to commence simulation. Any numeric displays or LEDs linked in the schemas become active (if the schema is right). Digital and analog inputs may be manipulated on the rear panels of those modules which have one. When a schema is opened the values on each connection are displayed and change as the inputs change. Pause the simulation with the amber stoplight. Step Through the simulation using the Single Step icon. End it with the red stoplight.

Place the breakpoint operator at critical points in the schema.  Its boolean input, when high, will pause the schema operation.  The Single Step toolbar button causes the simulation to perform one complete schema execution. Alternatively, use the amber light in the simulation toolbar to pause the simulation.  The hand symbol in the simulation toolbar will enable or disable all breakpoints.   Once the schema is downloaded to the module the breakpoints are ignored.
