Right click on the workspace name in File View. Select Add OPC Server Configuration File
Configure a Server
Figure 9.17. OPC Server Configuration: Networks
Specify which network the server is part of by selecting it on the left and clicking Include. Choose a COMM port your computer supports from the pulldown. Set Transmission Control Enable to specify how the computer is going to control the transmitter on its RS-485 transceiver. This depends on the RS-485 card in the computer. Options would be to use the Request to Send (RTS), Data Terminal Ready (DTR), or none. None assumes the RS-485 card has automatic transmitter control. The operation mode pulldown allows the server to execute in Listen only, Respond Slowly or Normal Listen and Respond modes (Figure 9.17).
Figure 9.18. Configuring a FairNET OPC Server
Use the Broadcasts and Receivers tabs to specify what signal traffic you wish to move between the network module and the OPC Server (Figure 9.18).
The last configuration step is to tell the PC how to use the OPC Server. Design Pad G4 created a .dat file for the OPC Server. Move it to:
C:\Program Files\Fairmount Automation
