The Workspace Network View
The Network View displays all the communication networks that are part of the workspace. It organizes the communication networks in a graphical hierarchical tree format. The workspace is the root node of this tree and the networks it contains are its first-level sub-nodes. Each network can have sub-nodes representing the HMI files and OPC server files for PC stations on that network. Each controller or PC on the network in turn can have sub-nodes representing the signals that the controller is to broadcast on the associated network.
Each item in the Network View tree has descriptive text alongside a small graphic that indicates the type of entry it is. For network items, the tree displays the network name next to a Physical Network (wires, signals) graphic. The protocols used on the network are identified with a Logic Network graphic. Each controller with a network resource linked to the network has a graphic based on controller type.
