Schema Viewer Licensing

When you first run Schema Viewer G4 on an unlicensed computer, you will be prompted with the licensing dialog box. The dialog box presents you with a software request key that you must e-mail to Licensing@FairmountAutomation.com in order to obtain a license file. Clicking the E-mail Key button will launch your e-mail program and prepare a message for you to send. Alternatively, you can save the key request file and subsequently manually attach it to an e-mail message. Schema Viewer G4 software does give you the option to run the software for 30 days without a valid license file. When that time expires, you must have a license installed before the program will run.

Shortly after sending your request, you should receive an e-mail response with an attached license file named SCHEMA VIEWER G4 LICENSE.DAT. Save the attached file in the computer's \WINDOWS (or \WINNT) directory or in the directory where the Schema Viewer G4 executable (FASV.exe) is stored. In Windows Vista or Windows 7, the license file must be saved in the directory where the Design Pad G4 executable is stored. When you save the file, you should be prompted to overwrite an existing 0-byte file with the same name---click YES. If you are not prompted to overwrite an existing file, then something is wrong. You either did not generate the key file from the computer where you are attempting to store the license, or you are not storing it in the proper location. Once you save the license file in the appropriate directory, you should no longer see the license dialog when you execute the program.
