Modbus-RTU Overview

Modbus was one of the first 'open' networking protocols. It is a master/slave protocol where no slave to slave communication may take place. Modbus employs periodic messaging, and all messaging is between a master and its slave(s). Modbus has both an ASCII and a binary (RTU) protocol definition. Design Pad G4 provides the tools for configuring masters and slaves and the messaging between them.
